Why I chose Fraser Health’s Aboriginal Health department for my FOI request:
I’m aware that Canada treats aboriginal people unfairly to this day, but it is kept very quiet by governments. Considering the fact that many aboriginal people suffer from a poor quality of life, I am curious to see how many file complaints at Fraser Health. I want to know why they filed them and if they were resolved. Generally, I thought it would be a good way to dig up dirt. Health authorities and aboriginal Canadians don’t have the best history. I’m sure I’ll find something worth noting.
P.S.: There was no single FOI officer provided, so I addressed it to the office listed on Fraser Health's FOI-related webpage.

The parenthesis in the request statement might be unnecessary. Though I would hope there wouldn't be too many complaints, it is also entirely possible there would be an overwhelming amount of information from the two year span.

Hi Aly! Great FOI request! It's very well formatted and clear on what you're looking for. I might change the date range that you requested though, it might be too long to get the information you want! Maybe send one off with a shorter time span, and send another if you find anything juicy! Well done though!
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty good FOI request. I'm not exactly privy on the topic at hand, though, so I'm somewhat useless in that aspect of my critique. However, I feel like the "status to-date" portion of the request is a bit vague.
